This website gives me the statistics on child abuse and neglect. It provides the definition for child abuse. It breaks it down and gives definitions of physical, emotional, sexual, and parental substances abuse. It give the definition of neglect and of unsafe envinroments.

This periodical article addresses independent living that the CHAFEE program. It tells about what the program does and how they go about it. It also adresses money saving. This was a little hard to read but gave me some of the information that I needed.

This is a story about a foster child named Jennnifer Gibson. It tells us how her and her siblings got removed from her mother. This was due to being in unhealthy environments. There are many stories like hers on foster club that are very moving.

This is a gragh of how long the kids are staying in the system. It breaks it down into groups of months and shows percentages of how many kids stayed in for how long. It shows that the greatest percentage it of those kids who enter and leave the system in a year or less. The lowest percentage is for those kids in the system for 5 years or more.

This is another story from the fosterclub. It is a story about a boy named Jeremy Long. It tells of how his father help him captive in the basement with no proper funiture. Then of how once he finally got out his mother ended up not being able to take care of him either. This is a story of neglect and child abuse.

Here I got exact definitions for emotional abuse and physical abuse. These were able to help paint a better picture of what each one is. It had a lot of other definitions and statistics that had to do with abuse.

This is an image of a timeline for foster care. It starts with the Children's Aid society in 1853. It lays out acts throughout the years. It ends in 1999 when they changed the law to allow serivces through foster care till 21 year old.
